04/13/2010 – The Lebanon Tigers Boy’s Junior Varsity Baseball defeated Tri-West Bruins team. The score was 12 to 2 in a league contest played at .
Lebanon opened its JV season last night, hosting the Tri West Bruins at Memorial Park. Coach Chris Coddington in his 1st season as the head coach of the JV, showed that this year’s team was going to be aggressive on the bases, strong on defense, solid on the mound and just enough hitting to bring those runners home. Chris Lowe started on the mound and gave the Tigers 5 solid innings, allowing but 2 unearned runs while striking out 10. The Tigers got 3 early runs on a lead off single by Garret Breedlove, a walk to Lowe, 4 stolen bases and a ground out, a passed ball and finally a solo shot over the left centerfield fence by Aaron Cline. The game remained that way until the 3rd when the Tigers squeezed another run accross. By the end of the 5th inning, Lebanon had stretched their lead to 8-2. Coach Coddington quickly went to his bullpen and brought in Mitchell Starkey who threw 12 pitches and struck out the 3 Bruins he faced in the top of the 6th. Lebanon then put the game to bed at they scored 4 runs, highlighted by Cole Forsyth’s blast to the fence for a stand up double.
Lebanon now goes on the road and will meet Western Boone on Thursday at 6:00pm.
